Dyeing
Today was another dye day. I am developing a new product for the shop and will have details and pictures very soon. I can't wait!!!
Minions
I am knitting 4 minions for a customer at Ewe-Nique Yarns, Etc in Morton, IL. Here is one of them finished. Aren't they so cute!!!
To the Dye Pot
I am very glad that the shop has had such a good start, but I didn't expect to deplete my inventory so quickly. So today I dyed all day.
I thought I would post a picture of the progress:
I thought I would post a picture of the progress:
over dyeing an ugly yarn
Sometimes the loveliest roving can turn out to be a hideous yarn. I had a sweet butter yellow roving with splotches of pastels throughout. It looked like something you would want to cuddle up with. I spun a 2 ply fingering weight yarn. The poor stuff looked like something that might have been pretty once but had yellowed with age. Blah!
So today I made a light blue dye bath and through the thing in. After a few minutes I thought, hey I should have taken a picture of that! ah well.
So it is soaking in the dye bath as I type. It has already turned a beautiful baby blue-green with lavender and other pastel blips.
pictures to follow.
